As we know perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

= 2(5x+4+x-4) = 72

= 2(6x) = 72

12x = 72

x = 6

Length = 5x+4 = 34

Breadth = x-4 = 2

If perimeter is 72m, then half the perimeter will be 36m,i.e, length plus breadth = 36m

A/Q,

l + b = 36m

=> 5x + 4 + x - 4 = 36m

=> 6x = 36m

=> x = 36/6m

=> x = 6m

Now,

Length of rectangle = 5x+4

= 5(6) + 4

= 30 + 4

= 34m

And,

Breadth of rectangle= x-4

= 6-4

= 2m

Hope that helps
