find the length of a chord which is at a distance from 4 cm from the centre of circle of radius 5 cm

(half of chord)^2 + (distance)^2=radius^2

(half of chord)^2 +4^2 = 5^2

(half of chord)^2 = 25- 16

(half of chord)^2= 16

half of chord = root 16 = 4cm

then the length of chord is 2*4 =8cm
