Step-by-step explanation:

radius drawn perpendicularly on the chord will bisect it.

Chord is 6 cm away from centre ao the perpendicular will be 6 cm.

now draw a line from the centre to one corner of the chprd. This length is the hypotenuse and measures 10 cm(bcoz it is equal to radius)

base is half of the chord since radius bisects the chord

by Pythagoras theorem,

H^2 = P^2 +B^2

=> 10^2= 6^2 + B^2

=> 64 = B^2

=> B= 8

therefore lenght of chord is 2B = 16cm
