GIVEN :-

  • Length of rectangle = 4 cm.
  • breadth of rectangle = 3 cm.

TO FIND :-

  • The length of diagonal of a rectangle.

SOLUTION :-

As we know that the diagonals of a rectangle are equal and bisect each other .

diagonals of rectangle are AC = BD.

In BDC By Pythagoras Theorem,

➟ (BD)² = (DC)² + (BC)²

➟ (BD)² = 4² + 3²

➟ (BD)² = 16 + 9

➟ (BD)² = 25

➟ BD = √25

BD = 5 cm.

AC = 5 cm.

Hence the diagonal of rectangle is 5 cm (each).

Given,

  • length of rectangle is 4cm
  • breadth of rectangle is 3cm

Diagonals of rectangle is AC = BD

The length of the diagonal =

By using Pythagoras theorem we can find the length of diagonal.

➣ (BD)² = (DC)² +(BC)²

➣ (BD)² = √(4)² + (3)²

➣ (BD)² = √ 16 + 9

➣ (BD)² = √25

➣ (BD)² = 5

Hence the length of diagonal is 5cm.
