find the length of a rectangle as shown in the adjoining figure, its perimeter is 200 m and breadth is 30 metres. ​

Answer:

Perimeter= 2(l+b )

Length = perimeter ÷2- breadth

200m÷2-30

100 -30 =70

length = 70

Given :-

Perimeter of rectangle = 200 m

Breadth = 30 m

As shown in the figure, Total Breadth of 2 sides will be :- 30 + 30 = 60 metres.

Now, We will subtract Breadth from perimeter :- 200 - 60 = 140 metres.

Length = 140 ÷ 2 = 70 metres (Ans)

Other way :-

Perimeter = 2 × (L + b)

Length = Perimeter ÷ 2 - breadth

Length = 200 ÷ 2 - 30

Length = 100 - 30

Length = 70 metres
