The formula we use for getting circumference is pie x diameter
so circumference=pie x diameter=44 cm (the value for pie is 3.14 approx)
just substitute this value for pie, so u write it as-
3.14 x diameter = 44 cm (now solve it like a linear equation)
diameter= 44/3.14 
            =14.01(2dp)

so 44= 22/7 *d
therefore 44/22*7=d
therefore 2*7=d
therefore d=14cm
