Find the length of each of the
equal sides of the isosceles
triangle if the perimeter and
unequal side are :
(a) Perimeter = 30 cm,
unequal side = 8 cm
(b) Perimeter = 55 cm, unequal side = 15 cm

30

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter = 2 equal side + unequal side

30 = 2 equal side + 8

2 equal side = 22

equal side= 11

Perimeter = 2 equal side + unequal side

55 = 2 equal side + 15

2 equal side = 40

equal side = 20

Hope it helps :)

(a) Let let of each equal side be x

We know that :-

➡️ Perimeter = Sum of all sides

According to the question :-

=> 30 = 8 + x +x

=> 30 = 8 + 2x

=> 30 - 8 = 2x

=> 22 = 2x

=> 22/2 = x

=> 11 = x

Length of equal side of isosceles triangle = 11 cm

(b) Let let of each equal side be y.

We know that :-

➡️ Perimeter = Sum of all sides

According to the question :-

=> 55 = 15 + y + y

=> 55 =15 + 2y

=> 55 - 15 = 2y

=> 40 = 2y

=> 40/2 = y

=> 20 = y

Length of equal side of isosceles triangle = 20 cm

Answer :

a) 11 cm

b) 20 cm

Additional Information :-

Area of circle = π r²

Area of square = (side)²

Area of rectangle = length × breath

Circumference of circle = 2πr

Perimeter of square = 4 × side

Perimeter of rectangle = 2( length+breadth)

Perimeter of any figure = sum of all sides of that figure
