Answer:

We know that in an isosceles right angled triangle, the length of the base and height is equal.

Let the length of base be y

Length of height = y

Area = 200 cm²

⇒ 1/2 × b × h = 200

1/2 × y × y = 200

y²/2 = 200

y² = 400 [after cross multiply]

y = √400

y = 20

Length of base and height = 20 cm

Now we find the length of hypotenuse using PYTHAGORAS THEOREM

(B)² + (A)² = (H)²

(20)² + (20)² = (H)²

400 + 400 = H²

800 = H²

√800 = H

√400 × 2 = H

20√2 = H

The length of hypotenuse = 20√2 cm OR 28.28 cm

Hope it helps
