what do you mean by length??
edit1: if the question contains "length of the equal sides" then it would be better.

let the length of the equal sides = x
length of unequal side = 8cm

perimeter of the triangle = 30cm
=> x + x + unequal side = 30
=> x + x + 8 = 30
=> 2x + 8 = 30
=> 2x = 30 - 8
=> x = 22/2
= 11cm

So length of each equal side is 11cm.
