Find the length of longest rod that can be placed in room 12 cm long 9 cm broad and 8 m high.

Length=12cm
Breadth=9cm
Height=8cm
Longest rod means nothing but its diagonal
Length of diagonal of cuboid=root l^2+b^2+h^2
                                                root 122+92+82
root(144+81+64)=root(289)
                           = 17cm
thus the length of the rod is 17cm

B=9m
H=8m

diagonal=√a^2+b^2+c^2
=√144+81+64
=√289
=17m
