Given : an isosceles right angle triangle . Altitude and median from two different point intersecting

To find :  Length of Red line

Solution:

this is an isosceles  right  angle triangle Hence perpendicular to hypotenuse is also median

Hence here are two median intersecting

Median intersects in 2 : 1 ratio

hence length of red line =  (2/3)  Perpendicular on hypotenuse

Hypotenuse = √x² + x² = x√2

half of hypotenuse =  x√2/2  = x/√2

Median length which is altitude too  = √ (x² - (x/√2)²   = x/√2

Length of red line = (2/3)  x/√2

= √2 x/3

√2 x/3  is the length of Red Line
