find the length of the chord which is distance of 5 centimetre from the centre of the circle of radius 10 centimetre

Radius=10cm
Distance of chord from the center(perpendicular distance) = 5 cm
If you draw the circle, and join the end points of the chord from the center, we will get 2 right angled triangle, with radius being the hypotenuse.
1/2 chord length = root(10^2 - 5^2) = rt75 = 5rt3
Since the perpendicular from the center bisects the chord into two equal halves, the chord length = 2*5rt3 = 10rt3 cm
