Given :

  • Area of quadrilateral = 360 cm²

  • Perpendicular ( h₁ ) = 5 cm

  • Perpendicular ( h₂ ) = 13 cm

To Find :

  • Length of diagonal

Solution :

Area of Quadrilateral = d/2 ( h₁ + h₂ )

→ 360 = d/2 ( 5 + 13 )

→ 360 = d/2 × 18

→ 360 = d × 9

→ d = 360/9

→ d = 40 cm

Length of diagonal is 40 cm

YOUR QUESTION :

The area of a quadrilateral is 360 cm². The perpendiculars from the two opposite vertices to the diagonal are 5 cm and 13 cm. What is the leangth of the diagonal?

YOUR ANSWER :

Given :

  • Area of a quadrilateral = 360 cm².
  • Perpendicular (h1) = 5 cm.
  • Perpendicular (h2) = 13 cm.

To find :

  • Leangth of diagonal.

Formula :

Area of quadrilateral = d/2 (h1+h2)

Calculation :

360 = d/2 (5+13)

=> 360 = d/2 × 18

=> 360 = d × 9

=> d = 360/9

=> d = 40 cm.

ANSWER :

\green{\boxed{\boxed{\boxed{ 40 \: cm }}}}
