Given :-

Length = 15 cm

Breadth = 8 cm

To Find :-

Diagonal

Solution :-

  • (D)² = (L)² + (B)²
  • (D)² = (15)² + (8)²
  • (D)² = 225 + 64
  • (D)² = 289
  • D = √(289)
  • D = 17

Hence,

The diagonal is 17 cm

Answer:

Given :-

  • A rectangle whose length is 15 cm and breadth is 8 cm.

To Find :-

  • What is length of the diagonal of a rectangle.

Solution :-

Given :

  • Length = 15 cm
  • Breadth = 8 cm

According to the question by using the Pythagoras theorem we get,

Diagonal = (Length)² + (Breadth)²

Diagonal = √(15)² + (8)²

Diagonal = √(15 × 15) + (8 × 8)

Diagonal = √(225) + (64)

Diagonal = √289

➟ Diagonal = √17 × 17

Diagonal = 17

The length of the diagonal of a rectangle is 17 cm .
