Given:

Circumference of circle = 44 cm

To find:

Diameter of circle = ?

Solution:

Circumference of circle = 2πr

Value of π = 22/7

Substituting value in above formula,

we get

  \\ \\Circumference \: \: of \: circle = 2πr \\ \\ 44 = 2 \times \dfrac{22}{7} \times r \\ \\ \dfrac{44 \times 7}{2 \times 22} = r \\ \\ r = 7 \: cm

 \\ Diameter = 2 \: r \\ \\ Diameter = 2 \times 7 \\ \\ Diameter = 14 \: cm

Required answer:

Therefore, the length of diameter is 14 cm

Basic points:

# In circle diameter is the straight line passing through center of circle and is called longest chord of circle

# In circle, Radius is half the length of diameter and diameter is twice length of radius
