Solution :

Sides given = 8 and 15

hypotenuse = ?

Pythagoras theorem

  Hypotenuse ^2 = Base ^2 + Altitiude ^2 \\\\ \to Hypotenuse ^2 = 8^2 + 15^2 \\\\ \to Hyptenuse ^2 = 64 + 225 \\\\ \to Hypotenuse = \sqrt{64 + 225} \\\\ \to Hypotenuse = \sqrt{289} \\\\ \to Hypotenuse = 17

So, the required answer i.e Length of Hypotenuse is 17 units
