The largest pole that can be placed in the hole is its diagonal.

The length of the diagonal can be found out using the formula :-
 \sqrt{l { \: }^{2}  + b {}^{2} + h {}^{2}  }
So. Putting the values:-

 \sqrt{10 { }^{2} + 10 {}^{2} + 5 {}^{2}   }
 \sqrt{100 + 100 + 25}
 \sqrt{225}
15 \: m
So the length of the largest pole is 15 m
