★ Question

find the length of the longest pole that can be placed in a room of dimension 10m×10m×5m .

★ Answer

↪concept :

The longest pole that can be put in the cuboid will be the the longest diagonal of a cuboid.

diagonal of cuboid

 =  \sqrt{l {}^{2}  + h {}^{2}  + b {}^{2}  }

the longest pole that can be placed in room

= diagonal of room

 =  \sqrt{10 {}^{2}  + 10 {}^{2}  + 5 {}^{2} }

 =  \sqrt{100 + 100 + 25}

 =  \sqrt{225}

 = 15 \: m

therefore ;the length of the longest pole that can be placed in a room of dimension 10m×10m×5m

is 15 m.
