Find the length of the longest rod that can be placed in a room 30 m long, 24 m broad and 18 m high. (In my book the answer is 42.43 m)​

Answer:

To find the longest rod, we have to find the resultant of all sides.

 \sqrt{ {30}^{2} +  {24}^{2}   +  {18}^{2} }

 \sqrt{900 + 576  + 324}

 \sqrt{1800}

30 \sqrt{2}

So, the length of the longest rod is 30✓2 or

✓2 = 1.41 so, 30x1.4 = 42.4 m
