Find the length of the median drawn from A where the vertices are A(4,-8) B(3,6) and C(5,-4)​

Answer:

D will be the midpoint of BC of △ABC with coordinates A(4,-8), B(3,6) and C(5,-4)

Then the coordination of D are

(3+5/2, 6-4/2)

that is (4,1)

Now

PD/AP = 2/1

The coordinates of P are

(2x4+1x4/2+1 , 2x-8 + 1x1/2+1)

= (8+4/3, -16 + 1/3) = (12/3, -15/3)

= (4,5)

Hence the coordinates of P are (4, -5)
