Concept :

Pythagoras' theorem states that for all right-angled triangles, 'The square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides'. The hypotenuse is the longest side and it's always opposite the right angle.

 \large\begin{gathered} {\underline{\boxed{ \rm {\red{H² = B² + P²}}}}}\end{gathered}

  • H = 13cm
  • B = 12cm
  • P = PQ

According to the concept

\tt \large \purple\rightarrow \: \:  {13}^{2}  \:  =  \:  {12}^{2}  \:  +  \:  {PQ}^{2}

\tt \large \purple\rightarrow \: \: 169 \:  =  \: 144 \:  +  \:  {PQ}^{2}

\tt \large \purple\rightarrow \: \: 169 \:  -  \: 144 \:  =  \:  {PQ}^{2}

\tt \large \purple\rightarrow \: \: 25 \:  =  \:  {PQ}^{2}

\tt \large \purple\rightarrow \: \:  \sqrt{25}  \:  =  \: PQ

\tt \large \purple\rightarrow \: \: 5 \:  =  \: PQ

Hence , the length of missing side is 5cm
