for CP

Loss=CP-SP

23=CP-437

23+437=CP

CP=460

Loss%=(loss+100/CP)

LOSS%=(23+100/460)

loss%=123/460

loss%=0.267..

Given information,

Loss = ₹ 23

SP = ₹ 437

To find-

The value of loss and loss percentage.

Solution -

As we know that,

Loss = cp - sp

Where,

CP = cost price

SP = selling price

So by putting the given values in the formula

23 = cp- 437

 -cp= -437-23

 -cp= -460

CP is ₹ 460.

we know that,

Loss percentage =  \frac{loss}{cp}  \times 100

Loss percentage = \frac{23}{460}  \times 100

Loss percentage =  \frac{23}{46}  \times 10

Multiply the 23 by 10 we get

Loss percentage =  \frac{230}{46}

By dividing 230 by 46 we get

Loss percentage = 5

Hence,

Loss percentage is 5% .
