Now, left hand side is |A+B|^2 and on the right side ,A.B=|A||B| cos (theta). Therefore ,

|A+B|=[ A^2+2|A||B| cos (theta) +B^2 ]^1/2. This is magnitude of resultant ( sum ) of vectors A and B.
