Find the mass of the following:
(i) 3.011x1023 atoms of oxygen
(ii) 6.022x1024 molecules of oxygen.
(Given atomic mass of O=16u; No= 6.022x1023 per mole)

(¡)mass of 1 mole of atoms of oxygen= 16g( since atomic mass of oxygen in grams is the mass of 1 mole of atoms of it)
so,
mass of 6.022 x 10^23 atoms of oxygen= 16g
mass of 3.011 x 10^23 atoms of oxygen:
Given no. of particles/Avagadro no. x 16g
= 3.011 x 10^23 /6.011 x10^23 x 16
= 1/2 x 16= 8g
(¡¡)
no. of moles in 6.011x10^23 = given no. of particles (molecules) / avagadro no.
=1(in this question
so mass = no. of moles x molecular wt. in grams
mass of 1 molecule of o2= 2 x 16 = 32
so mass = 1 x 32 = 32g
