What is the effective loss in weight of the block when partially immersed in water as show in the diagram (c)?

Weight of block = 20N

=> Mg = 20

=> M × 10 = 20

=> M = 20/10 = 2kg

mass of block is 2kg.

When block is immersed in water as shown in diagram C,

apparent weight of block = 10N

actual weight of block = 20N

effective loss in weight = 20 - 10 = 10N
