SOLUTION -:

Given -;

6, 7 , 10 , 12 , 13 , 4 , 8 , 12

Mean  =  \frac{6 + 7 + 10 + 12 + 13 + 4 + 8 + 12}{8}  \\  \\  =  \frac{72}{8}  = 9

now \:  mean \: deviation \:  =  \frac{ \sum \: x \:  -  \: m \: }{n}

6 - 9 \:  +  \: 7 - 9 + 10 - 9 + 12 - 9 \: \frac{ + 13 - 9 + 4 - 9 + 8 - 9 + 12 - 9}{8}

 \frac{3 + 2 + 1 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 1 + 3}{8} \\  =  \frac{22}{8}

= 2.75

mean deviation about the mean data for 6 , 7 10 , 12 , 13 , 4 , 8 , 12 is 2.75
