Given:

35, 32, 35, 42, 35, 32, 34, 30

To find:

mean, median and mode of the following data.

Solution:

35, 32, 35, 42, 35, 32, 34, 30

Sort the given data in ascending order - 30, 32, 32, 34, 35, 35, 35, 42

Finding mean:

Mean = sum of observations/total observations

30+32+32+34+35+35+35+42 = 275

Mean = 275/8 = 34.375

Finding Median:

30, 32, 32, 34, 35, 35, 35, 42

Middle number of the sorted data is the median but these are even so taking two middle numbers.

=> (34+35)/2

=> 69/2

=> 34.5

Finding Mode:

30, 32, 32, 34, 35, 35, 35, 42

The number that occurs most number of times is the mode. 35 occurs three times. so, the mode is 35.
