solution:

mean = sum of observations / no.of observations

mean = 32+16+25+40+46+29+18+22 / 8

mean = 288/8

mean = 36........ ( we got the mean)

median :

the numbers are 32,16,25,40,46,29,18,22

let's arrange in ascending order

16,18,22,25,29,32,40,46

here n= 8

so , we know formula for even number the formula is

1/2{ n/2 + n/2 +1}

1/2{8/2+8/2+1}

1/2{4 term + 5 term }

1/2{25+29}

1/2 {54 }

54/2=27

so 27 is our median and 36 is our mean

HOPE IT HELPS TO YOU ☺️☺️

Answer:

1) Mean = Sum of observation

No of observation

= 32+16+25+40+46+29+18+22

8

=228 = 28.5

8

2) Median = Arranging data in ascending order

= 16,18,22,25,29,32,40,46

There are 8 total number, so the 4th and 5th number are used to figure out the median

median = 1 × ( n) th term + ( n + 1) th term

2 2 2

= 1 × ( 4 th term + 5th term)

2

= 1 × ( 25+29)

2

= 54 = 27

2

3) Range = highest term - lowest term

= 46 - 16

= 30
