Answer:

Mean:-

Mean = Sum of the data/ Total no.of data

=> 55+75+40+34+45+60+45+44+50/9

=> 448/9

=> 49.7

Mode:-

First arrange the series in ascending order

55 75 40 34 45 60 45 44 50

=> 34,40,44,45,45,50,55,60,75

=>Mode = 45

Because it occurs more.

Median:-

First arrange the series in ascending order:

=> 34,40,44,45,45,50,55,60,75.

45 is the median.

Given:

The data:-

55, 75, 40, 34, 45, 60, 45, 44, 50

What To Find:

We have to find the mean, mode and median of the data.

How To Find:

  • To find mean,

\rm Mean = \dfrac{Sum \: of \: given \: observation}{No. \:  of \: given \: observation}

  • To find median,
  1. Arrange the data.
  2. Find the middle data.

  • To find mode,
  1. Arrange the given data in ascending or descending order.
  2. The number which occurs most frequently is the mode.

Solution:

  • Finding the mean.

Using the formula,

\rm \Rightarrow Mean = \dfrac{Sum \: of \: given \: observation}{No. \:  of \: given \: observation}

Substitute the values,

\rm \Rightarrow Mean = \dfrac{55 + 75 + 40 + 34 + 45 + 60 + 45 + 44 + 50}{9}

Add the numerator,

\rm \Rightarrow Mean = \dfrac{369}{9}

DIvide it by 9,

\rm \Rightarrow Mean = 41

∴ Thus, the mean is 41.

  • Finding the median.

Arrange the data,

⇒ 34, 44, 40, 45, 45, 50, 55, 60, 75

Find the middle number,

⇒ 45

∴ Thus, the median is 45.

  • Finding the mode.

Arrange the data,

⇒ 34, 44, 40, 45, 45, 50, 55, 60, 75

Find the most frequent number.

⇒ 45 (Coming 2 times)

∴ Thus, the mode is 45.
