Find the mean of the following data 11,14,15,17,19,14.If x is added to the number the new mean is 14, find the value of x

Mean = Sum of number/Total numbers

 =  \frac{11 + 14 + 15 + 17 + 19 + 14}{6}  \\  =  \frac{90}{6}  \\  = 15
Now if x is added to the number then
Sum of the number = 90 + x

And it's mean is 14

Total number is 7
so
14 =  \frac{90 + x}{7}  \\ 90 + x = 14 \times 7 \\ x = 98 - 90 \\ x = 8
