mean = sum of data values/ no. of data values

= 7+8+9+10+11+12+13+15+17+20/10 = 122/10 = 12.2

another method:

let the rough avg be 10

then deviations of given data is

-3, -2, -1,0, 1,2 3,5,7,10

average = 22/10=2.2

actual average = 10+2.2 = 12.2 is avg of given data
