the  \: mean \:  of  \: x-2,x-1,x , x+ 1, x + 2 \: is \\ mean =  \frac{sum \: of \: observations}{no.of \: observations}  \\   =  \frac{x - 2 + x - 1 + x + x + 1 + x + 2}{5}  \\  =  \frac{5x}{5}  \\  mean  = x
