Step-by-step explanation

Question:

if the mean of x,x+2,x+4,x+6,x+8 is 24.

Given:

Observation = x,x+2,x+4,x+6,x+8

Mean of observation = 24

Method Of Solution:

Mean = Sum of observations/Number of observation

Substitute the Given value in Formula!

Mean = Sum of observations/Number of observation

=> 24 = x+x+2+x+4+x+6+x+8 /5

=> 24 × 5 = (x)+(x+2)+(x+4)+(x+6)+(x+8)

=>120 = 5x+20

=> 120-20 = 5x

•^• 5x = 100

•°• x = 100/5

•^• x = 20

Hence, Required value of x is 20.
