find the mean pf the data using an empirical formula when it is given that mode is 50.5 and medain is 45.5

Heya,

According to the question,

Mode = 50.5
Median = 45.5
Mean = ?

Empirical formula,

=> 3Median = Mode + 2Mean

=> 3×45.5 = 50.5 + 2Mean

=> 136.5 - 50.5 = 2Mean

=> 2Mean = 86

=> Mean = 86/2

=> Mean = 43. .... Answer

Mode = (3 median) - (2mean)
→ 2 mean = (3 median) - (mode)
→ 2 mean = 3*45.5 - 50.5
→ 2 mean = 136.5 - 50.5
→ mean = 86/2
so, mean = 43
