$\displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: x = \sqrt{16 \times 441} }$

$\displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: x = \sqrt{4 \times 4 \times 21 \times 21} }$

$\displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: x = 4 \times 21 }$

$\displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: x = 84 }$

Hence the required mean proportion between 16 and 441 = 84
