25

Given:-

  • Mean proportion of 4 and 25.

To Find:-

  • Find mean proportion

Solution:-

Let's consider, the mean proportion be x.

Then,

 \sf \: 4 \ratio x \ratio \ratio \: x \ratio 25

Now, put 4 and x in fraction and x and 25 in fraction

 \large \sf  \implies \:  \frac{4}{x}  =  \frac{x}{25}

Now cross-multipling the terms

 \large \sf \implies \:  {x}^{2}  = 4 \times 25

Now multiply the terms

 \large \sf \implies \:  {x}^{2}  = 100

Now put square to the RHS side and then take square root

 \large \sf \implies \: x =  \sqrt{100}  \\  \large \sf = 10

Hence,the mean proportion of 4 and 25 is 10.
