Answer:

a=51 (corresponding angles)

b=63(corresponding angles)

c=180-53-61=66(angles of a triangle)

Now the larger triangle is similar to the smaller triangle.

 \frac{6}{9}  =  \frac{5}{d}  \\ d =  \frac{5 \times 3}{2}  \\ d =  \frac{15}{2}

Similarly

 \frac{6}{9}  =  \frac{4}{e}  \\ e =  \frac{4  \times 3}{2}   \\ e = 6

Hope it helps you .

Given :   3 parallel lines , a triangle and few measure of angles and dimension

To Find :  measure of a, b, c, d and e

Solution:

Properties of angles formed by transversal line  with two parallel lines :

• Corresponding angles are congruent.

• Alternate angles are congruent.  ( Interiors & Exterior  both )

• Interior angles are supplementary. ( adds up to 180°)

a = 51     ( corresponding angles )

b = 63    ( corresponding angles )

51° + 63°  +c°  = 180°   sum of angles of triangle

=>  c = 66

Using BPT ( Thales theorem )

6/9  =  4/e

=> 2/3 = 4/e

=> e = 6

Using similar triangle approach

6/(6 + 9)  = 5 / d

=> 6/15  = 5/d

=> d = 75/6

=> d  = 25/2  = 12.5
