Let the first angle be x

Second angle=1/5x

Complementary angle happens when the sum of 2 angles is 90°.

Now ATQ,

x +  \frac{1}{5}x = 90

 =  >  \frac{5x + x}{5}  = 90

 =  > \frac{6x}{5}  = 90

 =  > x = 90 \times  \frac{5}{6}

 =  > x = 75

 \frac{1}{5} x =  \frac{1}{5}  \times 75 = 15

Answer :

∴ Supplement angle = 150°

Given:

  • Measure of an angle = 1/5 of its supplement

To Find :

  • Supplement angle = ?

Step-by-step explanation :

Let an angle be x.

Then, supplement angle = (180° - x)

According to the given question ⟹

x = 1/5 ( 180° - x)

5x = (180° - x)

5x = 180° - x

5x + x = 180°

6x = 180°

x = 180°/6

x = 30

Thus, supplement angle = (180° - x) 180° - 30 = 150°.
