Solution :

_________________________

We know that ,

If a side of a triangle is produced,

then the exterior angle so formed

is equal to the sum of the two interior

opposite angles.

___________________________

Here ,

i ) In ∆ABC , side AB is extended to D,

<A + <C= <CBD

=> y° + 30° = 65°

=> y° = 65° - 30°

=> y° = 35°

ii ) <ABC + <CBD = 180°

[ Linear pair ]

x° + 65° = 180°

=> x° = 180° - 65°

=> x° = 115°

Therefore ,

x° = 115° , y° = 35°
