find the median in the following- 9 , 12 , 17 , 18 , 25​

(i) 5, 7, 9, 11, 15, 17, 2, 23 and 19

Arranging in ascending order : 2, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15, 17, 19, 23

Here, number of terms = 9 which is odd

Median = (n + 1)/2 = (9 + 1)2 th term = 5th term = 11

Hence, median = 11

(ii) 9, 3, 20, 13, 0, 7 and 10

Arranging in ascending order: 0, 3, 7, 9, 10, 13, 20

Here, number of terms = 7 which is odd

∴ Median = (n + 1)/2 = (7 + 1)/2 th term = 4th term = 9

Hence, median = 9
