Data : 8,15,23,14,6,8,3,16,15,18

Arranging the data in ascending order :

3,6,8,814,15,15,16,18,23

Then ,

They are even in numbers so ,

Median =

 \frac{ \frac{n}{2}th  +  (\frac{n}{2} + 1 )th}{2}  \\  \\  \frac{ \frac{10}{2}th +  (\frac{10}{2} + 1)  th}{2}  \\  \\  \frac{5  \: th+ 6 \: th}{2}

5 th term = 14

6 th term = 15

 \frac{14 + 15}{2}  =  \frac{29}{2}  = 14.5

The required median = 14.5

Hey there!

Answer:

Median  = 14.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Data:

8, 15, 23, 14, 6, 8, 3, 16, 15 and 18

Arranging in ascending order:

3, 6, 8, 8, 14, 15, 15, 16, 18, 23

Here n = 10  (even).

Apply Median formula:

\sf Medain = \dfrac{1}{2}\Bigg[\Bigg(\dfrac{n}{2}\Bigg)th \ term + \Bigg(\dfrac{n}{2}+1\Bigg)th term\Bigg]

\sf Medain = \dfrac{1}{2}\Bigg[\Bigg(\dfrac{10}{2}\Bigg)th \ term + \Bigg(\dfrac{10}{2}+1\Bigg)th term\Bigg]

\sf Medain = \dfrac{1}{2}\Bigg[5th \ term + 6 th\ term\Bigg]

\sf Medain = \dfrac{1}{2}\bigg[14+15\bigg]\\\\\sf Medain = \dfrac{1}{2} \times 29\\\\Medain = 14.5

Hope it Helps You!
