When the total number of the numbers is even (suppose n) there are two numbers in the middle. So you have to find the average of them. ie
(n/2 th number +(n/2 +1)th number))/2
First 100 whole numbers means 0,1,2,3……99. median is (50th +51 th)number /2=(49+50)/2= 49.5.(when arranged in ascending order).
