Hi,

Median is a measure of central tendency

which gives the value of the middle-most

observation in the data.

Finding the median of ungrouped data:
______________________________

Wr first arrange the data values or

observations in ascending order.

Then,
i ) if n is odd ,

Median = [( n + 1 ) /2 ]th observation.

ii ) if n is even ,

Median = average of the ( n/ 2 ) th and

[ ( n /2 ) + 1 ]

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

According to the problem given,

1,2,3 ,4, 5 , 6 , 7 are first seven natural numbers

Number of observations = n = 7 ( odd )

Therefore,

Median = [ ( n + 1 ) / 2 ] th observation

= [( 7 + 1 ) / 2 ] th observation

= 4th observation

= 4

Required median = 4

I hope this helps you.
