Given :-

  • Number = 10,32,17,19,21,22,9,35

To find :-

  • The median of given number

Solution :-

At first,arrange the given number in ascending order.

  • 9,10,17,19,21,22,32,35

Now,

  • n = 8 (even number)

when n is even then,

we know that,

\small\blue{\bigstar}\:\:{\underline{\boxed{\rm\red{Median=\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg[\bigg(\dfrac{n}{2}\bigg)^{th}+\bigg(\dfrac{n}{2}+1\bigg)^{th}\:term\bigg]}}}}

\rm\small\longrightarrow\:Median=\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg[\bigg(\cancel\dfrac{8}{2}\bigg)^{th}+\bigg(\cancel\dfrac{8}{2}+1\bigg)^{th}\:term\bigg]

\rm\longrightarrow\:Median=\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg[4^{th}+5^{th}\:term\bigg]

\rm\longrightarrow\:Median=\dfrac{1}{2}\times\:19+21

\rm\longrightarrow\:Median=\dfrac{1}{\cancel{2}}\times\:\cancel{40}

\rm\longrightarrow\:Median=20

Hence,the median of given number will be 20.

When total number of numbers (n) is an odd number then the formula of median will be

\rm\:Median=\bigg(\dfrac{n+1}{2}\bigg)^{th}\:term

When total number of numbers (n) is an even number then the formula of median will be

\rm\:Median=\dfrac{1}{2}\bigg[\bigg(\dfrac{n}{2}\bigg)^{th}+\bigg(\dfrac{n}{2}+1\bigg)^{th}\:term\bigg]
