13 , 16 , 14 ,2, 11 , 17 , 18 in ascending order is

2, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18.

We have 7 numbers here, so the number in the middle will be the fourth number from both left or right. Therefore the middle number, or the median, is 14.
