Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

19.25,5,9, 48, 35, 31, 30, 32, 51. 25 is replaced by 52 and 19  by 29.

To Find :-

Median

Solution :-

Arranging the data in ascending order , we get

19, 25, 30,31 ,32 , 35 ,48,51 ,59

Number of observations n  = 9 ( which is odd)

Median = n + 1/2 th term

Median = 10/2 th term

Median = 5 th term

Median = 32

Now, replacing 25 by 52, we get

19, 52 30,31 ,32 , 35 ,48,51 ,59

Arranging in ascending order , we get

19, 30, 31 , 32 , 35 ,48 , 51 , 52 ,59

Median = n + 1/2 th term

Median = 10/2 th term

Median = 5th term

Median = 35

Hence, the new median is 35.

AnswEr :

  • Find Median of Given Data 19, 25, 59, 48, 35, 31, 30, 32, 51.
  • Find New Median when 25 is replaced by 52 and 19 by 29.

Given Data :

⋆ 19, 25, 59, 48, 35, 31, 30, 32, 51

Arranging in Ascending Order :

⋆ 19, 25, 30, 31, 32, 35, 48, 51, 59

⇒ Median = (No. of Observation + 1) /2

⇒ Median = (9 + 1) /2

⇒ Median = 10 /2

⇒ Median = 5th Term

Median of this Data is 32 (5th Term).

Given Data :

⋆ 19, 25, 59, 48, 35, 31, 30, 32, 51

25 is Replaced by 52 and 19 by 29, New Data will be as shown below :

⋆ 29, 52, 59, 48, 35, 31, 30, 32, 51

Arranging in Ascending Order :

⋆ 29, 30, 31, 32, 35, 48, 51, 52, 59

⇒ Median = (No. of Observation + 1) /2

⇒ Median = (9 + 1) /2

⇒ Median = 10 /2

⇒ Median = 5th Term

Median of this Data is 35 (5th Term).
