data in ascending order

19,25,30,31,32,35,48,51,59

here the number of observation is 9, so

median = n+1/2

= 9+1/2

= 10/2

= 5

the 5th observation is the median

therefore,

median= 32

if 25 is replaced by 52

new data = 19,30,31,32,35,48,51,52,59

so new median = 5th observation = 35
