arrange all of them .. in increasing manner .. than if there are even no. like here are 9 ..so they are odd..

now replace 37 by 73 arrange them again

and for odd apply
n + 1 \div 2 =  \: the \: median \: term

Arranging the data in ascending order, we have 25, 31, 32, 37, 39, 42, 43, 45, 46 Here, number of observations = 9 (odd)

Median = value of (9+1 / 2)th Observation

= Value of 5th  Observation = 39

Arranging the data in ascending order, we have 25,31,32,39,42,43,45,46,73.Here,number of observations =9(odd)

Median=value of (9+1/2)th=Value of 5th Observation =42
