Answer:

(a) 8.5

(b) 65

(c) 230

(d) 4.3

Step-by-step explanation:

To get the median, sort the data then take the middle value.

When there are two middle values, take their average.

(a) Sorted: 3, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15

There are 10 values in total.  The two middle values are the 5th and 6th (underlined).  So the median is (8+9)/2 = 8.5

(b) Sorted: 50, 50, 55, 60, 60, 65, 65, 75, 75, 80, 80, 85

There are 12 values.  The middle values are the 6th and 7th.

So the median is (65+65)/2 = 65

(c) Sorted: 125, 180, 195, 215, 230, 365, 420, 540, 690

There are 9 values.  The middle value is the 5th.

So the median is 230

(d) Sorted: 1.8, 2.6, 3.4, 4.3, 5.6, 7.2, 9.1

There are 7 values.  The middle value is the 4th.

So the median is 4.3

Hope this helps!

median are the middle term

first arrange them in asscending order and take the middle number if the middle numbers are two so add them and divide it by 2.
