15, 6, 16, 8, 22, 21, 9, 18, 27

In ascending order: 6, 8, 9, 15, 16, 18, 21, 22, 27

Median = (n/2) + (n/2 + 1)/2 (If n is even) and (n + 1)/2 if n is odd

n = Number of observations

n = 9

Median = (9 + 1)/2

= 10/2 = 5th observation

Therefore median = 16
